  • Awesome bad dream

It’d take some explaining though. No one need read, I’m only documenting it for future reference.

I’ve recently been planning a plot-line I like to Call Raygun Possible— it’s an offshoot from the real Raygun Gothic stories where I can mess about with the characters somewhat to develop their characters, as well as seeing how they’d react in certain situations.

One such Subplot is called Mercenary Mercantile, and in short, it’s a Battle Royale style piece. The problem I’ve had with it, and the reason it’s not part of the Raygun Plotline proper, is that there aren’t enough characters to work with yet (so Far I’ve got four, including the two Raygun Gothic protagonists).

Anyway, onto this dream— Mercenary Mercantile seems to have gotten into my head, because I dreamt about it last night; only all the gaps left by characters yet to develop were filled by characters from the Marvel universe (particularly Wolverine, Spider-man and the Fantastic four). Pretty awesome right?

    Well it was.

The Mercenary Mercantile “competition” goes on for five days and is broadcast live at the same time, sorta like Big brother, only with more random death. On about the third day, the producers were getting complaints that even though spider-man was on the island, the public hadn’t seen him since the start of the contest. Using Technology and so on, they located him inside a garbage compactor on the island and decided to flush him out.

So they added some new contestants, you can do that right? They were the spider-man villain Carnage and someone I think I made up called the mesmerist. These two attack the garbage compactor. What with the mesmerist being a hypnotist, he convinces Spider man he is actually a spider— while Carnage, having gone into a blood frenzy pulls off all Spider-mans limbs and crushes him in the Garbage compactor.

That was the bad part of the dream, ‘cus much as I love mercenary mercantile as a concept, there’s a part of me that doesn’t want heroes, especially those like Spider-man to actually die. It was pretty brutal too, so I woke up there. surprisingly structured dream though, and pretty cool too. Y’know, until the brutal death part.
